DETAILED ITINERARY

On arrival at the Shannon Airport you will be met by NEILGOLF'S Tour Director who will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to your transportation.

Day 1

Today play Tralee Golf Club:

Designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 1984, this traditional links course has matured into a fine test of golf. The course works into the dunes and brings the exposed coastline into play, offering wonderful views from Barrow out to Fenit Island and the Atlantic. This stunning setting represents a true paradise for those willing to challenge what is widely acclaimed as one of the finest links courses in the world. Smitten at first sight, Palmer would later go on record with this memorable quote: “I may have designed the first nine, but surely God designed the back nine”. It comes as no surprise to learn that, due to the majestic beauty of this setting, Palmer choose it to be his first and, arguably, his finest golf course in Europe

Overnight: The Killarney Plaza Hotel: Full Irish Breakfast included

Day 2

Play today at Waterville Golf Links:

Set against majestic scenery on the famous Ring of Kerry, you will a hardly find as tough a test as Waterville. A spectacular location and an outstanding test of golf, Waterville has developed into one of the most admired and respected courses in Ireland. Following recent course design improvements by Tom Fazio, Waterville has now entered into the top 100 courses in the world. Unsheltered from the sweeping winds from the Atlantic, this is as real golf can get. It’s signature hole is the par three 17th, named “Mulcahy’s Peak”after course developer John A. Mulcahy, where you tee off some 250 feet above sea level with a carry of 200 feet over dunes to reach the green. He insisted on the location of the tee so as all who play Waterville would depart with a remembrance of this unique setting.

Overnight: The Killarney Plaza Hotel: Full Irish Breakfast included

The course was opened for play in 1997, and its success story has gone from strength to strength. It is now one of the most talked-about courses in the world. The Old Head is a remarkably dramatic piece of Ireland, protruding over two miles into the Atlantic Ocean. Old Head Golf Links is built on a 220-acre diamond of land, jutting out over two miles into the Atlantic. The promontory is almost an island with numerous caves running beneath your feet as you play the course.

Nine holes play along the cliff tops, and all eighteen holes provide stunning ocean views. The 360-degree vistas will distract you, but do not relax too much as the ever-changing sea breezes will challenge you at every turn of this par-72 layout.

Overnight: The Killarney Plaza Hotel: Full Irish Breakfast included

Day 4

Today play Dooks Golf Links:

Founded in 1889, Dooks is one of the oldest Golf Links in Ireland.

Set amid the blue waters of Dingle Bay and with Ireland’s highest mountain range, the McGillycuddy Reeks, overlooking every shot, this truly is a magical location for a stunning golf course.

A real “Hidden Gem”, Dooks is not as exposed as some Irish courses and features and amazing variety of gorse, heather and wild flowers, the "gentle" wind is never far away and the narrow genuine sandy fairways and well contoured greens offer you a real taste of traditional golf at its very best.

Overnight: The Killarney Plaza Hotel: Full Irish Breakfast included

Day 5

Today play Ballybunion - Old Course:

Ireland's most famous course and consistently rated amongst the world's finest. Perched on a sandy cliff top, it makes its way through dunes and valleys with dramatic changes in elevation. Wild and intimidating, but stunningly beautiful on the Atlantic. The greens are often perched on mounds or carefully sheltered between sand dunes. You are sure to remember many of the fine holes, in particular the par four 11th, perched right on the seaside clifftop among the dunes.

Overnight: Vaughan Lodge, Lahinch: Full Irish Breakfast included

Day 6

Today play at Lahinch Golf Club:

With its towering sand dunes, undulating fairways and rolling greens is the perfect natural golfing terrain – a true links. The original course design work by old Tom Morris was later improved upon by Alistar MacKenzie. The feature holes include the long 5th known as the “Klondyke”, with a completely blind second shot over a dune which straddles the fairway. This hole is followed by the “Dell”, the 156 yards par three 6th, which requires another blind shot to reach the green. Lahinch is the permanent home to the South of Ireland Amateur Championship.
